Charlie’s House
St. Louis Ghost Hunters was contacted by the property owner (Charlie) of a private residence in St. Louis, MO. The property owner indicated that while in the house, he and other people had heard footsteps and experienced opening and closing of doors. The property owner stated that these experiences occurred on the upper two floors of the house.
The group arrived at the location and prepared for the investigation. We toured the residence and made determinations for the locations of our cameras and other equipment. Mini hand held cameras, various electromagnetic field detectors, audio recorders and digital cameras were also used during the investigation.
During the initial walk through of the home, investigators Lindsey Piech and Jen Leggett made note that several of the doors on the second and third floors did not close tightly or were missing handles. Some of the rooms on the second and third floors also had uneven floors. These explanations give possible answers to the claims of doors opening and closing on their own.
Once the investigation began, STLGH made note of high EMF readings in the home. There were various inconsistencies in these readings. The cause of these spikes in EMF is undetermined. While Jen was investigating in the basement, she felt as if something touched her back. This experience seemed to correspond with the EMF abnormalities. We did not experience the footsteps or the open/closing of doors.
Photo and video abnormalities were found while reviewing the evidence. None of these abnormalities were profound nor depicted paranormal activity. However, the audio evidence reveals an electronic voice phenomena (EVP). This EVP was picked up in the bedroom on the second level at the back of the house. The EVP was recorded during a conversation being held by the investigators. The voice on the recording was not heard that night during the investigation. We are unable to determine the source of the voice on the recording. We think it may be saying the name Tim. The EVP is about a second before Lindsey starts to talk.
Based on the evidence collected during the investigation St. Louis Ghost Hunters has determined that there is some level of paranormal activity at the investigation site. The cause of this activity has not been determined. STLGH hope to find answers for the activity by continuing our investigation at this location.
