Barnes’ Residence
St. Louis Ghost Hunters were contacted to investigate the home of Mr. Dan Barnes. Mr. Barnes reported that he and other residents of his home have heard the whispering of their names, the opening of the external porch door as well as footsteps, sounds of doors opening and the sound of an old time radio in the basement.
During the research process of the location, a former owner of the property, Mrs. Morton also recalled hearing voices and whispers in the home. She also stated that many time in her home she had a feeling of uneasiness. Mrs Morton was able to give us some information about the owners before her. The owners before her had the last name was Peterson. She also knew that Mr. Peterson died in the home and not of old age, but didn’t know the details.
STLGH began the night outside investigating the yard and surrounding areas of the property. During this time, we took pictures in a crawl space that was located under the porch as well as all round the home. Some of the pictures taken appear to have possible orbs in them.
We then moved to the porch area where the clients have heard footsteps and the sound of doors opening. During an EVP session on the porch, a knock was heard coming from inside the house. The audio evidence provide numerous knocks and noises that came from inside the home while we were all on the porch.
We then headed inside the house to begin the inside part of the investigation. We started in the living room, where the temperature and EMF levels showed nothing out of the ordinary, except for some abnormal EMF spikes that were found to correspond with the refrigerator kicking on an off. It was found the the refrigerator emits high levels of EMF. We also got high EMF from a chalk board in the dining room. The EMF was inconsistent and we were not able to find the source of the activity.
We then moved to the living room. While we were in there performing an EVP session we seemed to catch an EVP. Eric asked “are you Mr. Peterson” and it appears that we got an answer.
We continued our investigation throughout the rest of the house and found nothing unusual in either of the bedroom or the basement.
During the review of the evidence we did find several orb like object flying around the living room and dining room areas. We also caught a couple of EVP’s on the dining room recorders. Here is a sample of some of what we caught. You can hear them at 7 and 15 seconds.
Based on the evidence collected, we do beleive that there is paranormal activity occurring at the property.

This was a great investigation. The clients were wonderful to work with before, during and after our night there. Interesting EVP recordings–still thinking about some of those…I wish I knew more!
