Ms. Darron contacted St. Louis Ghost Hunters after she inherited the residence in Collinsville, IL. Ms. Darron explained that she, and others, had experienced a number of noises and feelings while in the home. She told STLGH that she had heard footstep in other rooms and other levels of the home while cleaning the home. Her husband told us of a basket that had appeared in the middle of the kitchen without explanation. He noted that he had thrown away the basket on a number of occasions and each time the basket returned to its original location. She also advised that in several situations trinkets were found in rooms that had been previously cleaned. Ms. Darron expressed her concern to be alone in the home and told us that none of her friends would return to the property with her.

STLGH invited Vicki Main to assist in the investigation of this Collinsville, IL property. Tom, an acquaintance of Vicki’s, observed the investigation.

Upon arrival at the home in question, Ms. Darron and her family were eager to share the details of their experiences. Her daughter shared experiences from her childhood. Ms. Darron mentioned that the history of the home included séances or “séance parties”, as well as a story that her mother felt she had been pushed down the stairs to the basement during her residence. Examples of the items found in the home had been left for our examination, including the reappearing basket. She also shared some additional family history including the vague details of a female family member that once lived in the home but eventually was admitted to a psychiatric hospital where she later passed. (STLGH was unable to verify the details of this story, as well as the details of other family history.)

STLGH placed infrared-lit cameras linked to the digital video recorder in four locations of the home. One was placed in the attic. A second was located on the railing at the top of the stairs on the second floor. The third was located in the “second” bedroom on the main level. The fourth camera was in the basement. Below is a picture of some of the Nazi trinkets that were found in the house.

Our investigation included all levels of the home, including the attic, as well as all the rooms of the home. Knocks, bangs, and other noises occurred throughout the investigation without explanation. Upon reviewing the evidence collected we found light abnormalities, or what some people think of as orbs, through out the home. Some of the most interesting included one that appeared to follow the group through the kitchen and up the stairs which appears around 40:35 toward the upper right corner of the door on the left and then loops around.

Others were interesting because they seemed to hover and change direction.

The audio recorder located next to the camera in the attic picked up a single breath or sigh near the end of the night. It’s about 7 seconds into the video.

Many people in the group also felt is if something was watching us from doorways and other room, most notably the kitchen and attic. Unfortunately we were never able to document any of the personal experiences.

Because of these phenomena found STLGH determined a second visit would be useful. The return investigation has been conducted and details will be coming soon.

The first video of the Darron house on here has people walking through with flashlights then the unexplained lights appear. as these lights are on the wall, I would guess them to be reflections off a window, mirror, picture, or some other refective surface. The pattern the lights follow looks very much like patterns when people walk through an area with a flashlight. I couldn’t say for sure without seeing the area but that is what it looks like to me. There is one video of an “orb” that really intrigues me though. It’s free floating and not on a wall so it’s probably not a flashlight reflection. It may be dust or something reflecting light but I would have to know more about what light sources were used in the video.
