Answers to Common Questions

  • What do you charge to do an investigation?  All investigations are done free-of-charge.  Our goal is to help you to feel more comfortable in your home or business and to document  or debunk your claims of activity.

  • Why do you do this for free? We don’t feel its ethical to charge when results are not guaranteed. We all have a strong interest in the paranormal field and enjoy helping people–that is our reward! Ghosts don’t perform on command and we can’t absolutely guarantee that we’ll be able to document or debunk your claims.  We all have full time careers outside of the paranormal field and have made the commitment to support the expenses of the group ourselves.

  • What does “paranormal” mean?  Anything that is unexplainable by science is considered “paranormal”.

  • Do you always find something paranormal? No, sometimes we don’t and sometimes, that is just want the client was hoping for! But often times, we do experience paranormal activity on our investigations and many times we are able to capture evidence of the activity on audio and in video or photographs. Sometimes we are able to capture footage related to a client’s claims and other times, our findings show something completely different.

  • Can I come along on one of your investigations? Although opportunities to accompany the group may be offered in the future, we currently don’t allow people outside of STLGH to come on our investigations for a number of reasons. We’ve been working together for a long time and know what to expect from each other on investigations. Even well-meaning guests could unintentionally distract us from our work or compromise the integrity of the evidence we collect. Everyone in our group has gone through an extensive application and interview process. We check references and the background of our team members prior to membership. We will not compromise the trust our clients place in us by bringing someone unfamiliar to us into their home or business for entertainment purposes. In the future, we may offer opportunities to accompany us on investigations of appropriate locations where confidentiality is not a concern.

  • Are ghosts real?   We believe that there may be the possibility that there are free-roaming spirits.   However, scientific proof has remained elusive.   While we have come across some very convincing evidence we do not 100% confirm, nor deny, the presence of spirits.  We do believe 100%that there is a possibility of ghosts living in our world.

  • I think my house or business may be haunted. What do I do?   First, you need to remain calm and do not worry that something may want to harm you, your family or your colleagues. Only a very small percentage of cases involving the presence of spirits and demons results in physical harm toward those experiencing activity. Next, consider the activity you’ve experienced and possible non-paranormal explanations for it.  If you still think that you may be experiencing something paranormal then send us an e-mail.  Once we receive your e-mail we will  contact you, assess your situation and schedule an investigation for your location to see if we can help.

  • Should I investigate my home/business myself? We do not recommend that you perform investigations on your own. It’s theorized that certain methods of investigation may increase activity and turn mild activity into very extreme activity.  We always suggest you contact a paranormal research group, such as STLGH and schedule for us to investigate the location.  All investigations are done free-of-charge.
