POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The founders of St. Louis Ghost Hunters are accepting applications for the position of “Research.”

POSITION FUNCTION

To support the efforts of St. Louis Ghost Hunters on investigations by gathering and compiling applicable background information on the client property, significant historical time periods or individuals relating to the property, and other relevant information pertaining to the investigation site.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Within the time period before an investigation, typically 2-3 weeks, the researcher will use their resources to compile as much applicable history and information as possible on the investigation site and immediately surrounding area. The researcher will provide an oral and/or written summary of pertinent details and supporting materials to the investigation team prior to the investigation. After an investigation, the researcher will create a research findings report to be integrated with or provided as a companion piece to the official case report provided to the client and with permission of the client, published in whole or in part on the internet. The researcher will create and maintain a confidential resource database of local and regional research resources and contacts. The researcher will intermittently act as a paranormal investigator on investigations.

 Members must be18 years old or older.

 Availability to attend group meetings on weeknights as scheduled. Meetings are scheduled every 1-3 weeks and typically begin around 7pm and last for 2-3 hours.
 Open availability to participate in investigations on Saturday nights as needed. The group is typically on-location by 9pm and investigations typically end by 5am.
 Valid driver license and reliable transportation.
 The ability to travel to the investigation locale prior to the investigation to conduct local research.
 Unlimited computer, internet and telephone access.
 Computer and internet savvy.
 Excellent oral and written communication skills.
 Professional writing style using standard collegiate writing mechanics.
 Professional demeanor and appearance.
 Willingness to assist St. Louis Ghost Hunters with all phases of the investigation process, including, but not limited to, research, investigation, review and analysis of evidence and preparation and presentation of the findings.
 The ability to dedicate a minimum of 5-10 hours per week to St. Louis Ghost Hunters in addition to investigations. Most team members contribute a minimum of 20+ hours the week directly following an investigation.
 Strong commitment to a professional, scientific, thorough and respectful approach to paranormal investigation.
 Adherence to the terms set forth in the St. Louis Ghost Hunters Membership Agreement and Code of Conduct and to abide by the Investigation Dress Code and Investigation Standards.
 Ability to pass a background check.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

St. Louis Ghost Hunters is a volunteer membership organization. All members/positions are considered volunteer and a $10 per month membership fee is required. In addition, members participating in investigations are required to contribute an additional $10 to participate in their first investigation of the month and $5 to participate in their second investigation of the month. Currently, membership fees are capped at $25/month.
